Even if cooling-only and heating-and-cooling controllers use the same enclosure, check what the keys do before deciding whether to buy one graphic overlay or separate versions. Keep a permanent legend only if it means the same thing in every configuration that uses it. If you share a Mode key, check a sample of each configuration to confirm that the screen offers only the modes the user is allowed to select. A cooling-only controller should not carry a fixed Heating legend that reads like an available control. Remove the dedicated legend and verify the common overlay, or order separate artwork and part numbers.
On November 7, 2026, the China International Import Expo website republished Guangming Daily’s on-site report (Chinese). It described Bosch’s AI-Hybrid whole-home climate system on display, which can coordinate air conditioning, space heating and hot water equipment. The report did not disclose the exhibit’s keypad, control configuration or component suppliers. For a separate HVAC controller project that uses one enclosure across cooling-only and heating-and-cooling models, start by checking what each configuration actually lets the user do before approving common print artwork.
Is the function absent, or is this terminal not allowed to change it?
Section 5.2.1 of the Daikin Madoka wired controller reference guide distinguishes the modes available to a cooling-only indoor unit from modes that are locked and changeovers the local unit cannot make under centralized control. Section 2.2 of the Bosch CR 400, CW 400 and CW 800 operating instructions says the manual covers the maximum range of functions. Actual settings depend on the system, and displayed text can vary with the interface software version. These manuals describe their respective products. Neither establishes the exhibit’s configuration or prescribes legends for other models.
If a user cannot select Heating, the purchase specification should say whether the model lacks heating or the terminal simply cannot switch into it at that time. The same applies to hot water: the whole-home system may manage it without giving every wall controller permission to adjust it. Ask the equipment team to identify what each configuration can select, what it only displays and what the user sees when a mode is locked. Give the overlay supplier that information to check the permanent legends.
| Delivered configuration or state | Artwork and ordering decision |
|---|---|
| Cooling-only model without heating | Do not print a fixed Heating legend that implies the user can select it. If the overlay shares a Mode key, do not offer heating as a selectable item on this model. |
| Heating-and-cooling model with local changeover | Match permanent legends or on-screen mode names to their actual actions. With a shared Mode key, verify the selectable options on this configuration. |
| Heating is installed, but centralized control locks local changeover | On a sample with the lock active, check that the screen distinguishes the running mode from actions available locally. Do not use this sample to approve artwork for the cooling-only model. |
| Hot water is controlled from a different terminal | Do not specify a local hot-water adjustment key just because the overall system supports it. If the terminal only shows hot-water status, check the marking as a status indication. |
Request quotes for two options you can actually order
Give the supplier the same assembly requirements for both quotes: one common overlay with generic key legends, and separate versions with dedicated legends. The equipment team should verify the menus and lock messages on samples of every delivered configuration before approving the common version. For separate versions, put the overlay part number, artwork revision, compatible configuration and quantity on each purchase-order line. Confirm separately whether the outline, window, cutouts, adhesive and tooling can be shared. Use the assembly drawing and supplier review; a change in print artwork does not settle the tooling decision.
Shenzhen Baoshengda Technology Co., Ltd.’s custom graphic overlay page (Chinese) lists editable artwork, alignment datums, window and cutout dimensions, legends and adhesive coverage as quotation inputs. See the English product page or send the proposed common assembly drawing, configuration matrix and quantities per version through the project contact page. A graphic overlay or keypad overlay bought on its own does not include switch circuitry. The equipment project team must confirm the firmware menu, centralized control and finished-system validation separately. The cover shows existing panel samples with permanent markings, openings and flexible tails, not HVAC equipment or parts from the expo exhibit.
For artwork already in hand, see text and symbols for identifying panel functions. If the equipment team is also changing firmware, see how to check membrane key legends after a software update (Chinese).
