Expired membrane-switch quotation: reconfirming an order

An expired quotation does not necessarily mean a higher price or a retained lead time. Compare current drawings, quantity and delivery conditions, obtain a written extension or revised quotation, and check already-confirmed orders separately.

When a membrane-switch quotation has passed its stated validity period, ask the supplier to reconfirm the price and applicable conditions in writing against the current drawings, quantity and delivery requirements before placing an order. Expiry does not necessarily mean a price increase, nor does it establish that the earlier lead time or material arrangements remain reserved. If the order was already confirmed, check that order and the agreed change procedure first; do not treat quotation expiry as automatic invalidation of a confirmed order.

A Beijing Institute of Technology procurement notice for a humanoid-robot dexterous-operation experimental platform, published on November 4, 2026 (Chinese) on the China Government Procurement Network lists November 26 for the tender submission deadline and bid opening, while separately defining a performance period starting from contract signing. This is a procurement notice, not an award or completed delivery. It discloses neither membrane-switch components nor a Baoshengda supply relationship.

Equipment inquiries, tendering and actual ordering can take place at different times. If your own equipment project separately purchases membrane switches, an early component estimate needs to match the revision and conditions at actual order placement. The following review addresses that timing gap. It does not interpret the reported project's tender rules or assume its component quotations have expired.

Identify the quotation that has expired

Keep the original quotation file, reference, issue date and validity wording, and establish whether an order has already been formally confirmed. If the validity period is unclear, ask the supplier rather than calculating a period from the email date. Even “use the original price” needs to identify the relevant part, drawing and quantity; a brief agreement in a chat is not enough to specify that scope.

Section 2 of Epec's Terms and Conditions of Sale distinguishes the validity of its quoted prices from lead times established at order confirmation, and states that pricing also involves engineering, CAM and production-planning review. That section uses PWB specifications and sets out Epec's own 60-day term. It is not an industry-wide membrane-switch validity period or a Baoshengda quotation commitment. It is used here only to illustrate that price validity and actual delivery confirmation can be separate matters.

Compare the current conditions with the original quotation

The table is a purchasing discussion aid, not universal contract terms or a standard Baoshengda form. Mark each item unchanged, changed or awaiting confirmation, then ask the supplier to state the effect. Unknown information should not be marked unchanged, and unconfirmed charges should not be entered as zero.

Original quotation itemCurrent order conditionsSupplier response to obtain
Part and technical revisionChanges to drawings, materials, circuitry, tail, connector or acceptance requirementsWhich earlier items remain applicable and which need reassessment, linked to effective documents
Quantity and batchesWhether order quantity, pricing tier and split-delivery plan remain the sameThe unit price applicable to the current quantity; do not assume an earlier large-volume basis still applies
One-time charges and existing materialsWhether earlier samples, tooling and confirmed material preparations actually exist, and which revision they coverWhat is included or separately charged now; paying a sample charge does not establish that tooling remains usable
Delivery and commercial scopeChanges to requested dates, destination, packaging, freight, taxes or currencyWhat the current price includes, the lead-time dependencies and unresolved items
Validity of the new responseExpected purchase-order date and when the supplier completes this reviewWhether the original quotation is extended or a revised quotation issued, with current validity and conditions

Even when the drawings and quantity are unchanged, ask whether the earlier lead time still applies. An unchanged price does not establish that production capacity is reserved; a revised schedule does not necessarily mean a changed unit price. Record a separate conclusion for each so purchasing can decide whether to proceed on the current basis.

Keep a traceable confirmation even when the price is unchanged

If the supplier agrees to extend the quotation, link the response to the original and specify the applicable part, revision, quantity, deadline and any exceptions to earlier conditions. If a revised quotation is issued, retain the old version and identify their relationship rather than silently changing the original date. The purchase order should reference the currently confirmed quotation and technical revision. Resolve differing conditions explicitly; sending a purchase order does not by itself establish that the other party has accepted every term.

Returning to a staged equipment-procurement process, an early inquiry can state the expected ordering window and ask the supplier to identify the estimate's conditions. Recheck when that actual window arrives. Do not describe an unconfirmed component quotation or delivery date as secured merely to match the equipment project's target date.

Bring the original record and changes to Baoshengda

Shenzhen Baoshengda Technology Co., Ltd.'s membrane-switch customization page (Chinese) calls for checking quotation revision, part reference, effective drawings, approved sample, quantity and split-delivery information before ordering. It also explains that drawing, quantity or test-requirement changes require reassessment of affected prices and timing. Send Baoshengda Technology the original quotation reference, available drawings or photos, expected quantity, requested dates and changes. Leave incomplete information unresolved; actual price, validity and supply scope depend on the parties' project-specific confirmation.

Also identify the purchased item. A graphic overlay or keypad overlay supplied only as a surface part does not include switch circuitry. For an overlay with metal domes used with the customer's PCB, specify PCB and functional-validation responsibilities separately. The cover shows only the appearance of circuit patterns and a tail interface on transparent film. It does not establish material grade, stock, tooling availability, a quotation or performance results.

To align the scope of competing quotations first, see membrane-switch quotation comparison (Chinese). For lead-time start and end conditions, see sample, production and shipment milestones (Chinese). Submit the review information through the project contact page, then file the extension or revised response with the order record. Keep unconfirmed items pending. The English membrane-switch product page describes the related product scope.
